The Sun Returns is a fine art poster inspired by January in Ísafjörður, Westfjords, Iceland, when the sun’s first direct rays return after weeks behind the surrounding mountains. This artwork belongs to The Icelandic Year, my collection of paintings shaped by Iceland’s landscapes, light and seasonal stories.
In Ísafjörður, the return of sunlight is welcomed through Sólardagurinn and Sólarkaffi: a simple gathering over coffee and Icelandic pancakes, shared with family, friends, classmates or colleagues. For me, this tradition carries a tender reminder that light and hope can find their way back, sometimes one small ray at a time.
This museum-quality poster is printed on thick matte paper and makes a thoughtful piece of Icelandic wall art for a living room, bedroom, studio or reading corner.
